1. Call the airline ahead of time: Many airlines have specific policies regarding wedding dresses and may be able to provide you with information on how to transport your dress safely.

  2. Leave your dress in the Garment bag it came in. If you are really worried you can use a large plastic bag inside the garment bag to protect your dress during the flight. Make sure it is large enough to hold your dress and has enough padding to prevent damage.

  3. If possible, carry your dress onto the plane as a carry-on item. This will ensure that you can keep an eye on it and that it is not handled roughly by baggage handlers.

  4. As soon as you get inside the plane politely ask a flight attendant if they can store your dress in the cock-pit. Not to worry businessmen ask this all the time when traveling around in their suits.

  5. Once you arrive at your destination, unpack your dress carefully and hang it up as soon as possible check for any damage or wrinkles and give it a steam if needed.
Remember to plan ahead and take your time when packing and transporting your wedding dress on a plane. With proper care and attention, you can ensure that your dress arrives safely and in perfect condition for your special day.
